Cat Power Vows To "Leave America" In Bizarre Instagram Rant
No judgments or thoughts, really, but yes, Cat Power's Chan Marshall did post a truly bizarre rant on the official Cat Power Instagram account yesterday, promising to "leave America" due to the "powers that be" "[raping] this earth with its lies, protection of wealth, and vicious slayings."

"THANK YOU FOR THE HOPE IN YOUR SYM...
I'm not too tough to admit that Chelsea Wolfe kind of terrifies me… in that totally fantastic, amazing sort of way. Last year's Apokalypisis (my rave review) is one of the eeriest, grittiest, most gorgeously bleak albums I've ever heard in my entire life… so I was a little dismayed (and, you know, terrified, of course) to hear that Chelsea's going all acoustic on her upcoming third studio album (title TBA), out this October via Sargent House.
No need to fear, it turns out. A new song from the forthcoming album titled "Flatlands" (recorded live as part of Sargent House's Glassroom Sessions and featuring Andrea Calderón on violin, Ezra Buchla on viola and Ben Chisholm on second guitar) made its way online this afternoon. Check it out below.
First thoughts?
It's not quite as spooky as anything on her previous two albums, but, more importantly, it's just as devastatingly beautiful. The aching string arrangement creaks and moans beautifully above Chelsea's brittle finger picking (that bent-string riff gives me the chills) and achingly unadorned vocal. Dare I say it, I think I might actually like this sound even more than the deathly grinding of Apokalypsis. Can't wait to hear what else she's got in store on this very mysterious new album of hers.
