I've just got to come out and say this: if I was a dancer on So You Think You Can Dance and I just spent a week learning an unnecessarily complicated routine, busting my ass for Nigel Lythgoe's stupid British approval only to be derailed by a quirky bitch in polka dots than I'd just quit life. There's lots of reasons for lots of things in television, but does Zooey Deschanel have the demerits to judge a bunch of people way more physically talented than her? She'll be squatting in the judges' chair for the first time, isms and all, for the show's 200th episode, and I swear to God if she opens her mouth to promote New Girl I am going to punch my TV in the face. Don't get me wrong- I love New Girl and I love So You Think You Can Dance, but seeing as the two have zero in common other than a network, I'm not seeing the sensibility. Wait: does this mean Schmidt can guest judge? Because I'd be fine with that. His dance credentials aren't better than Zooey's but his face sure is.
