"This song is about sex!" proclaims Billie Joe Armstrong by way of introducing the brand-new official trailer for ¡Dos!, the second of three new Green Day albums coming out this fall and into early next year. As expected, the album cover features bassist Mike Dirnt (looking more than a little hung-over, if you ask me) in keeping with the visual style established by the ¡Uno! cover (see below).
Check out the new cover and another taste of brand spanking new Green Day music by peeping the latest trailer below.
Hmm. The song from the ¡Uno! trailer was pretty Foxboro Hot Tubs, but this new one (title also TBA) is even more of a throwback rock 'n' roll hootenanny. Haven't yet heard anything vaguely resembling an "AC/DC meets early Beatles" sound (as promised yesterday), but it's definitely a far cry from the rock opera bloat of American Idiot and 21st Century Breakdown… not to mention the lean/mean punk-pop of their '90s albums. The more snippets we're treated to, the more convinced I am that anything (and likely everything) could and will happen on ¡Uno!, ¡Dos! and ¡Tre!… and that it'll be drastically unlike anything else they've ever released under the Green Day name.
The three new albums are scheduled to drop September 25, November 13 and January 15, respectively. Excited? Of course you are! Tell us about it in the comments section below.
