We're in Thailand this week and John's coming off a big win. Nookie is still pissed Nicole didn't go home last week and he had to send Nick home instead.
"Pretty much no one wants to be on Jenna's team because she's so annoying."
Time for "The Course," which just involves a lot of running. John and Nookie are together. Avery and Jenna. Nicole and Liz.
"I would call Avery and Jenna's team 'oil and water.' I know Avery's not happy, but I sure as hell am."
The teams get to the market and it's chaos. I just notice John running around with his jeans rolled up like the cute dork that he is. Manpris? Maybe he takes lessons from Top Chef's Angelo? Either way, I'm a fan.
"A hundred Thai women are laughing at me."
Nookie and John have a woman helping them and showing them where everything is, which gives them a huge lead. They have to crack and shred coconuts. Avery and Jenna are lost. Nookie and John pull out first, followed by Liz and Nicole. They have to run through a rice field!
"I've run through a corn field or two in my day."
John falls. Hah, poor kid. I swear this competition is about physical ability just as much as culinary ability. Anyway, they have to plant rice plants in mud. Everyone seems to go barefoot except Jenna who puts on boots. And then complains about it.
"I'm seeing stars. Gas tank's running on E."
Liz and Nicole are catching up to John and Nookie because they are both in shape. Still, Nookie and John win! They get 10K too.
"I'm glad Nookie's still alive to enjoy this with me."
Jenna and Avery walk the entire way back and they. are. pissed. John's cracking up. The exceptional ingredient is that John and Nookie get twice the money to shop with and get to serve two dishes as opposed to one. Jenna and Avery aren't allowed to work with heat, which is a huge disadvantage.
Basically, the teams have to serve street food to locals and whomever earns the most money, wins. Jenna and Avery have a local woman show them exactly how to make their dish, so this is looking good for them.
"Just knowing that I'm not on a team with Jenna is such a relief."
All this talk makes me think Jenna and Avery might end up taking the win. Liz and Nicole are smart and make their dish more expensive as it becomes more popular. Too bad they are running out of food though. Meanwhile, Nookie is super loud and confident, and the judges and locals think their food is bland. Uh oh.
"I'm not paying attention to most of what you say."
The people are loving Jenna and Avery's dish, as I expected. Liz and Nicole are running low on food. And the locals and judges don't like it anyway. Nookie knows it's about selling, not about taste, so he waters down his juice. Jenna is not pleased to find this out.
Immunity is now off the table, but the MVP gets $5K. Nookie and John win by far and John wins MVP! When the bottom four chefs talk, it's really awkward and full of tension. I think it's between Nicole and Jenna at this point.
Jenna chooses Liz. Liz chooses Jenna. Nicole chooses Liz. Avery chooses Jenna. It's a tie! John's choice now! I'm almost positive he'll send Jenna home since she's a stronger competitor. And he chooses... Jenna! Wow. Ballsy! Looks like John may take the whole thing if he keeps this up.
SumOlogy: John's manpris win the episode.
