I've never read Ana Karenina but according to probably the smartest person in our office Evan McMurry, it's 100% worth reading. I always thought of it as the Russian version of Wuthering Heights which means (to me) wah wah wahhhh romance. But it turns out it means so much more than that. Like, uh, communisim and stuff. Maybe I should just wait for the remake of 1984. Snowball was such an asshole. High five literary jokes!
The film is brought to you by Joe Wright who previously did the feel good hits Atonement and Pride & Prejudice. Well, I guess P&P was kind of heartwarming, but in general I hate Jane Austin books because whenever I read them I just scream "WHY DON'T THEY JUST F*CK ALREADY?" Plus, once my aunt told me that no man will ever be like Darcy so I shouldn't get my hopes up.
What I'm trying to say is that I have high hopes for this flick. It looks like people are going to have sex. It looks like it will be cinematically interesting. And Jude Law is wearing a bald cap, so that's pretty cool.
Ladies and gents, the live action remake of Anastasia Anna Karenina.
Hey readers, does it look faithful to the book? Comment!
