Yesterday, this blog ran a piece on Mitt Romney doofusing about his American ordeal of ordering a sandwich at Wawa, and backed it up with a theory about how Mitt Romney's poll numbers seem to go up in direct proportion to the amount he keeps his mouth shut.
The video came from MSNBC, which edited the Wawa parts out of context. Full video shows Mitt Romney miming the ease and wonder of ordering at Wawa in comparison to dealing with big government. While Romney still doesn't come off as a guy who orders his own sandwiches very often, his goofiness was more for effect than a result of his lifetime of not stepping foot into places like Wawa. Romney's no ordinary Joe sixpack, but he doesn't deserve to be misrepresented.
No excuses. PoliticOlogy effed up, and will be better about seeking out and incorporating context in the future.
