We've always thought of Taylor Swift, the cute-as-a-button country-pop crossover teen, as sort of a G-rated Miley Cyrus. "You Belong With Me" is a fun song, but definitely not life-changing. Except Swift has just released her third studio album, Speak Now, and... uh, we were wrong.
Swift writes from life, and this time around, rather than focusing on the cheerleaders and football players who figured into Swift's high school dramas, she's singing about drama with Kanye West, Taylor Lautner and Camilla Belle. The latter of whom is apparently a massive whore.
But here's what really killed us softly: Swift's painful six-minute takedown of guitarist John Mayer, notoriously outspoken about being a player, whom Swift was reportedly romantically involved with early last year. It's a slow, wrenching ballad of what was clearly a destructive relationship for Swift, who demands of Mayer (sorry, "this guy John"), "Don't you think nineteen's too young to be played by your dark twisted games?"
