GLAAD is saying that Johnny Weir isn't allowed to participate in the annual Stars on Ice, because he isn't "family friendly." They go on to say:
To say that Weir is "not family friendly" would be a clear jab at his perceived sexual orientation. Weir is extremely involved with his family. He is putting his younger brother through college, and supports the family financially because his father's disability prohibits him from working. [...] Weir's performance and costume style is sometimes considered flashier than those of other skaters, leading to questions about his perceived sexual orientation.
Johnny has been getting more and more attention lately with his OUTLANDISHLY HOMOSEXUAL COSTUMES and COMMENTS! But he's giving just as much attention to the sport of ice skating back, a sport that, come on let's get real, has become dullish and boring since the Nancy Kerrigan/Tanya Harding scandal back in the 90's. Stars on Ice should be begging Weir to take part in only the gayest touring ice show since -- well, every other touring ice show ever known.
And just because it's not pink and sparkling, it doesn't make it any less gay. And there is nothing wrong with that.
