“Duran Duran. They've done New Romantic to funk to house, done them well, and combined them in interesting ways.”

Nell commented on Ology's Battle Of The Fans: '80s Semi-Finals (Duran Duran Vs. Depeche Mode):
“Duran Duran. I'm a fan of both, and have seen both perform, but it was hearing The Chauffeur live that really showed me how much a piece of music can do emotionally even when the lyrics are somewhat abstract.”
WARNING WARNING WARNING: This article is coming from a completely biased place. And if you don’t like it, I don’t really give a sh*t.
Jumping on the volatile, erratic and appalling train that is The Chris Brown Express, we are going to focus on something besides his humiliating antics and the new cut on his chin courtesy of Drizzy and Co.. It is beyond me that Chris is allowed a 582nd second chance in life music and society itself, but Breezy is unfortunately back with his album ‘Fortune’ that drops on June 19th. Leaks of the album have been posted on the Internet for a while, but a new snippet of his song “Calypso” was posted yesterday for Team Breezy to relish in while waiting for his next act of idiocy or lip-synching performance! Hoorayyy!
The one-minute clip is reminiscent of when Chris Brown was actually a decent guy (ahhh the good old days) with hits like “Yo (Excuse Me Miss)”; “Calypso” is light and smooth in contrast to his electronic “Turn Up The Music” or heavier “I Can Transform Ya” from a few years ago when he still sucked as a person. Breezy croons, “ Wanna take you home we need to be alone tonight” , but all I hear is “Blah, blah, blah, I think domestic violence and bar fights are okayyyyy!”. No, Chris Brown, I won’t listen to your lyrics, I don’t want to be alone with you tonight, because you straight up frighten me. You’ve totally lost your performance mojo! Are you good for anything besides this 1-minute clip? Call me terrible at disassociating personal life with work life, but even with the smoothest tracks from your future album, you will never escape your past and inconsistent presence.
If you like this snippet--cool, we are on the same page. If you don’t like what I have to say about the Chris Brown, himself--COME AT ME BRO! Hit up the comments either way.
