GET IT? Anyway, the perfectly curated New York retailer (see: hand-selected Proenza alongside Alexander Wang x OC x Lane Crawford) has just announced plans to open a pop up shop in Covent Garden in London just in time for the 2012 Olympic Games. The temporary location paves the way for the store's permanent London presence come Fall 2012.
"Bringing Opening Ceremony to Covent Garden is an important next step in the growth of our company," co-founders Humberto Leon and Carol Lim told WWD. "In the last 10 years since we first opened our doors on Howard Street in New York, Opening Ceremony has expanded to Los Angeles and Tokyo, but we have had our hearts set on London since the beginning. Covent Garden is an historic, global shopping destination and we’re looking forward to what Opening Ceremony will add to its exciting future."
The pop-up shop will be home to OC's original ready-to-wear and accessory lines, as well as other favorites like Kenzo, Rodarte and Toga. London will see the much-anticipated debut of Adidas x Opening Ceremony. Are you excited that OC is expanding its international horizons? I kinda want to keep it to myself...
