The Washington Post has the scoop that Florida special prosecutor Angela Corey is set to announce Wednesday afternoon that George Zimmerman will be charged in the shooting of Trayvon Martin.
On Monday, Corey declined a Grand Jury that was set to convene on April 11. Yesterday, Zimmerman's attorneys withdrew from his case, claiming they had lost contact with their client, though they maintained that they believed he acted in self defense. Both attorneys believed that Zimmerman would turn himself in if charged.
Corey will speak to the media at 6 p.m. EST. No word yet from Corey's office as to the nature of the charge or why they feel Zimmerman's actions fell outside the bounds of Florida's Stand Your Ground law.
