As it turns out, one of the funniest moments at the Golden Globes wasn't staged. Seth Rogen went off-script when he joked that he was trying to conceal a "massive erection" while presenting an award with Kate Beckinsale, which is why she couldn't stop giggling.
Evidently Seth later regretted his raunchy quip, because he apologized to Kate. Of course it's not hard to see why a nerdy guy like Seth would have a thing for Kate. The Underworld: Awakening actress has become the object of many fanboy fantasies by donning skintight leather and kicking some werewolf tail. However, Zack and Miri Make a Porno star Seth is really going to be a fan of hers now--apparently Kate loves penis jokes.
Here's what she told Celebuzz about Seth Rogen's apology: "He was like, 'I'm really sorry about that, I hope you don't mind. I said, 'no, no, it's fine.'"
Perhaps his penis joke reminded her of the one she played on - wait for it - her own mother!
According to Contact Music, Kate Beckinsale revealed during a recent interview that her cheeky makeup artist gave her a rubber penis as a gift. But instead of just displaying it on a shelf in her dressing room, she decided to put it to use (not like that!). While her mother was getting ready to go to the airport after a visit to the set of one of her movies, Kate stashed the phallus in her carry-on bag, knowing that her poor mom would be extremely embarrassed when customs officials found it.
Luckily for Kate's mother, the makeup artist who gave Kate the gift persuaded her to call her mom before her bag got checked. She then had to find somewhere to quickly dump the penis.
But maybe her mom would have had a good laugh about it. Kate dished that she and her mom both enjoy a good penis joke every now and then - the Underworld actress says that she'll often arrange a banana and two apples into a naughty shape before she leaves her mom's house so that she'll think of her when she looks at her fruit bowl.
So Seth Rogen obviously didn't know who he was dealing with. Now he might regret not taking his joke one step further - if he'd toted a fake penis onstage with him, now Kate would probably consider him the funniest guy she's ever known.
But now we can only hope that these two get together to make a Funny or Die video ASAP.
