A Preemptive Emmy Awards Best & Worst Dressed List

The Emmy Awards don't always make for the most sartorially pleasing red carpet ceremony (see: Met Gala, CFDA Awards, Oscars) but by now, most of the Resort collections have shown and it's still always fun to play dress up. I got a little bored inspired this morning and decided to pair some of the nominees and potential attendees with what they might wear to strut down the aisle of speculation.

BEST DRESSED

Christina Hendricks and those god-like hips of hers would stun in this royal blue Zac Posen Resort gown.

Dianna Agron should don Valentino Fall 2011 Couture (without the sleeves, of course).

Kate Winslet, who's nominated for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Movie (Mildred Pierce) would be a vision in Elie Saab Fall Couture.

Elisabeth Moss got a nom for her lead in Mad Men, and always looks impossibly regal. I'd love to see her steal the spotlight in this pink gown from Elie Saab Resort 2012.

Melissa Leo isn't exactly a fashion god, but she'd get a youthful push in this Oscar de la Renta number.

Evan Rachel Wood just chopped off her locks in exchange for something a little more edgy, so this Lanvin mini (lengthed or not) would play to her rock and roll persona.

I know she'll likely show up in some vintage Versace, but keeping with my Elie Saab obsession, I'd love to see January Jones in something blue.

WORST DRESSED

I refuse to ever call J. Lo anything but J. Lo and while Coco Rocha looks amaze in this Zac Posen gown, J.Lo will probably cut off the bottom (she is the face? legs? of Venus razors) and try to get offended when we tell her she looks all "Jenny from the block."

I'm not exactly sure what Kim would be doing there, but I'm sure she and her ass will make quite the appearance. This Zac Posen gown would just make her bottom look way bigger than it is. She should instead emphasize her tiny waist.

Unless she goes dramatic with a red lip, Claire Danes is doomed to look washed out in this Valentino gown.

Anna Paquin will wear black Emilio Pucci RTW 2011 because, as one Ology editor might say, "sometimes she likes to squash her boobies."

Before you look at me like I'm crazy and flood the comments area with death wishes, let me explain myself. I absolutely adore this Zac Posen gown, but there's nobody that could wear this as poorly and prom-like as Lea Michele. She can make the most couture styles look cheap - it's really quite a skill.
