Earlier this summer, Sonic Youth guitarist Lee Ranaldo promised (see below) that although the band are definitely "done for a while," they're keeping busy cleaning out the archives with a slew of planned reissues and live releases. As announced earlier this morning, the first of hopefully many new releases will be a live recording of the band's August 11, 1985 concert at Chicago's Smart Bar, fully remixed and mastered from the original 4-track cassette tape source.
