The Flaming Lips capped off The Colbert Report's coverage of last Friday's StePhest Colbchella '012: RocktAugustfest music festival last night, performing "Ashes In The Air" from the band's collaborative new compilation The Flaming Lips And Heady Fwends. In true Flaming Lips fashion, frontman Wayne Coyne (who I was lucky enough to interview last fall… check that out below) chilled out with Stephen Colbert in a space capsule aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid (makes sense to me, shrug), talking Long John Silver's, Ke$ha, outer space and other timely topics.
