We heard about this one last week when further details of DJ Khaled's upcoming album Kiss the Ring were released, and with the release date shortly away, the chunky host decided to follow-up his monolithic reunion of Nas, Scarface and DJ Premier on "Hip-Hop" with a K.Dot, Cole and K.R.I.T. collaboration.

You'll have to deal with the Funkmaster Flex babbling nuisance, but the product beneath is, well, just by my thoughts, a little bit of a let-down. Maybe it's what they're working over or a case of overcrowded talent, but Kendrick, K.R.I.T. and Cole don't exactly have the glue between them. While their respective verses are exceptional, my vision of what "They Ready" would be isn't matched, but maybe I'm carrying runaway expectations from the triumvirate. Or maybe it's just Khaled's fault (something of it also sounds like it belongs more to Cole than anyone else).
Regardless, "They Ready" is an essential, and yet another sign that Khaled's Kiss the Ring, a.k.a. the album owned by everyone involved except him, is going to be a necessity.
Here's "They Ready"; give it a listen, throw up your thoughts.
