First off, I would like to make note of this to anyone reading - I have started a new job that has me working 10 hour days (not counting transportation.) So its not that I have lost interest, I just have to get used to budgeting my time correctly. Whether you know me or not, you will find that its VERY hard for me to keep my mouth shut, and that applies to this. Second off, I hope all of you have noticed that twitter has become a new and fashionable way to destroy a persons livelihood and assassinate their character. In America, you cant get put in a gulag (yet) for your thoughts or opinions. HOWEVER, you can lose your job, your friends, and your way of life for one comment that may or may not meant what someone has taken it as. This (if youre paying attention to the twitter olympic coverage) is not at all exclusive to the US (I believe it was a Greek athlete who was expelled from her team for a comment about mosquitoes eating home cooking because a team from an African country, I believe, was in her competition, wherever it was. I will reference this and clarify the details in the next post.) This is all kinds of wrong. I will elaborate on my opinion in my next post, but until them, remember this - Anything you say on the internet can and WILL be held against you in the court of public opinion....a court subject to no procedures or laws, with a jury composed of your piers and their jerk friends....this never ends well.
