As if we already don't have enough hip-hop to listen to today, Wale (probably under Rick Ross' demand) decided to barge into the festivities, fighting to give his upcoming album The Gifted some presence by releasing a week-early stream for free.
The album doesn't officially drop until next Tuesday, June 25, so, you know, there isn't necessarily any urgency here. However, if you aren't interested in what's out today, hit it up here and let us know your thoughts.
Here's the tracklist:

Listen Up: "Paper Birds" By Meek DeMeo Feat. Kendrick Lamar
Meek DeMeo caught my attention a while back when he dropped an Ab-Soul featured remix of his track "Hallucinogen," and to show that his TDE affiliation and breakout wasn't a simple stand alone spark, he's back with some new sounds, this time featuring Kendrick Lamar, which should speak pretty well on the kind of interest he's getting from the scene.
As we saw with "Hallucinogen," this new record, titled "Paper Birds," is loaded down with ethereal instrumentals and a general atmosphere of depression, something that caught immediate comparisons to The Weeknd earlier, and ensured us that the guy can put out some emotive sounds. Regarding Kendrick, I don't think there's any reason for me to explain, as, per usual, his work is exceptional on a variety of levels.
Anyway, Meek DeMeo is up to something--we just aren't sure exactly what that is yet. We'll see though. Here's "Pa...
Despite the fact that Maybach Music Group's Self Made Vol. 2 label follow-up wasn't worth much more than a listen or two (at best), Rozay made his usual expenditures by enlisting Pitchfork TV to put together a 37 minute documentary showcasing the label's "takeover" of New York City leading up to the release of the album (I emphasize the word "takeover" because, really, it's just the crew dicking around. No hate against Stalley though).
It's essentially a slew of clips from the various members loitering around before and after major interviews at NYC media hubs such as Hot 97, BET, etcetera, and is yet another showcase of the decadent vanity that Ross so desperately requires to fulfill his self-perceived demigod image in the genre.
If you've got some time to kill, hit up the documentary below; if not, you know, whatever...
