A new survey that was conducted in the UK and released at the British Association of Dermatologists’ Annual Conference found that nearly one-third of people with tattoos regret getting them. Considering that Miley Cyrus has nearly a dozen tats by now, including the new Teddy Roosevelt scribe on her left forearm, she'll probably regret a few of them.
"From our research we found that many of the people we questioned regretted their tattoo/s, therefore we'd encourage members of the public to have a 'cooling' off period or to seriously think about what effects getting a tattoo may have on their lives in the future," said study researcher Dr. Caroline Owen, a consultant dermatologist for the East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust.
It's important to note that the author of the study, Arif Aslam, had expressed a serious bias going into this, saying, "We feel that it is important for people to know that it’s very likely that one day they will regret their tattoo. They are not that easy to remove and unwanted tattoos can affect people’s life chances and cause them upset and unhappiness." That seems a little extreme, but you should probably think thrice before you get a Teddy Roosevelt quote where everyone can see. I mean, he seems great, really, but does Miley have a real connection with his words?
Even then, men are more likely to feel tattoo regret than women, proving tramp stamps aren't nearly as bad as that ridiculous spider web-on-the-elbow design. In other "No Shit!" news, tattoo regret was three times more likely among men if they got the tattoo before age 16. Aren't we supposed to regret everything we do in middle school?
Anyway, what do you guys think of Miley's new tattoo? Do you think she'll end up regretting in on her wedding day? That is, if she actually stays engaged to Liam Hemsworth for more than a few months...
