Sometimes, a little spiked green tea is all you need to cool down on a hot summer day, making it the perfect drink to accompany your next weekend BBQ. Check out Eating Well's citrus-rum recipe for your next get together (this makes ten servings)!
What You'll Need
- 2 lemons
- 2 oranges
- 1 1/2 cups dark rum
- 1 cup sugar or honey
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons green tea leaves or 9 green tea bags
- 1 bottle chilled champagne or sparkling white wine
- 1 quart chilled seltzer water
Thinly slice the lemons and oranges. Combine the sliced fruit with rum in a bowl. Cover and let macerate at least 8 hours or overnight. Then, combine sugar and water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and stir in tea. Let steep for 20 to 30 minutes, then strain into the rum mixture. Cover and chill.
The next day, add champagne or sparkling wine and seltzer. Enjoy with friends!
