Woah, a story about wealth and sexual perversions on Manhattan's Upper East Side? GET THE HELL OUT OF HERE! The only thing sports related in this story, as far as I can tell, is that Anna Gristina, the woman accused of peddling underage girls and other women for sex, is referred to as the "Soccer Mom Madam." Good enough for us!
Gristina was released from Riker's Island toay after posting $250,000 bond (!), and she's just happy to resume her life. You know, her normal, regular, Upper East Side life that involves raising money for her totally legitimate dating site that's NOT a prostitution ring. You know, normal, UES stuff like hanging with Morgan Stanley bankers, taking more than the prescribed dose of Xanax, and setting up high-class prostitution rings. Whoops, scratch that last one!
I have no idea if any of Gristina's four children play soccer, but calling her a soccer mom strikes me as having the same amount of irony as calling Kate Middleton a "commoner." Gristina's children, if they play the sport, don't play like other kids play. They have personal coaches; they have equipment worth more than everything I own; and they will learn how to dive before they learn how to dribble.
But that's neither here nor there. Gristina seems like the sort of woman who totally would never ever start a prostitution ring that caters to wealthy clients, so we hope she's cleared of wrongdoing soon.
